For me, learning to paint is about learning to see. As I grow and evolve, this clarity is my joy. Since I choose to paint landscapes, people and still lifes, from direct observation, I am never at a loss for subject matter.

I attempt, clearly and with an open mind, to depict the essence of the subject in a way that shares my vision with others. My emphasis is on color, and how it is affected by various types of light.

By recording my perceptions and feelings, it is my hope that the resulting painting resonates with the viewer, in a way that allows for a shared experience.
